What is Electric Simulation?
Electric stimulation is a therapy that uses electrical muscle stimulation to reach the deep layers of muscle with safe amounts of electric currents. The electrical currents decrease muscular tension which in turns increases blood flow.
How does it work?
A small electric current is produced which causes your muscles contract under the stim pads placed on the skin. The patient feels a small pulsation in the muscles. This pulsation increases blood circulation to the area which in turns promotes muscle healing.
Who would benefit?
Electric stimulation is beneficial in decreasing pain, decreasing muscular spasms and increasing blood flow to a local area. Patients suffering from a muscle spasm, muscle strain or muscle sprain would benefit from electrical stimulation therapy.
