Jacob Powers, LMT

Jacob is a proud veteran who began his career in the U.S. Air Force where he learned the value of service, discipline, and integrity. Following these principles through his life, he moved to Chicago to pursue his education starting with psychology and transitioning to clinical massage therapy. He is a graduate of The Soma Institute of Clinical Massage Therapy where he learned to utilize adaptive clinical techniques to address unique needs of each patient on his table.
Though the goals of his care can change depending on the uniqueness of each individual’s body, he brings a holistic, compassionate focused approach that helps support others in feeling safe, grounded, and functional (both physically and mentally). His trained therapeutic modalities include sports massage, Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, assisted stretching, among other modalities.
It is often underestimated how our daily habits and the stress of everyday life can affect our bodies and bring imbalance. Hopefully through his care, Jacob can bring mind-body awareness to his patients who can begin to improve their quality of life by promoting pain relief, preventing further injury, and improving range of motion.
We all must find time to unwind and pursue what brings us joy in life, so when Jacob is outside the office he can be found walking the 606 trail through Wicker Park/Bucktown, reading a good book or comic/manga, or watching a Premier League game to cheer on the Tottenham Hotspurs.
