Meet Angel: Q+A with a Chicago Clinic Manager
Meet Angel, clinic manager at Division Chiropractic.
Angel is like the mortar in brick and mortar, or the “and” in peanut butter and jelly. In other words, Angel is the glue that keeps our clinic together! As the clinic manager, she’s the person anyone can turn to to get the help they need— whether they’re a patient, a coworker, or the boss.
If you’ve been to Division Chiropractic, you’ve definitely seen Angel, but in today’s edition of In the Clinic and Beyond, you’ll get to know her a whole lot better! This month, we sat down with Angel to ask her all the Big Questions, so grab a seat and join us for this special clinic manager interview.
What’s your role at Division Chiropractic?
Clinic Manager aka Barb the Builder.

What makes Division Chiropractic the best chiropractor in Chicago?
We’re the best because we truly care about optimizing our patient’s health! Our doctors are easy to get in contact with for any health concerns, and the owner lives in the neighborhood.
What brings you the most joy at work?
I like babysitting all the little ones that come in with their parents. I enjoy coming up with crazy business ideas with the front desk team. I also like testing my chiropractic knowledge with our doctors.
What are some of your hobbies or interests?
I love practicing and experimenting with new hairstyles/colors. I enjoy traveling and trying new cuisines. I’m also a true crime addict. My newest interest is getting into DIY home improvement projects.

Do any of your hobbies ever make a positive impact on your life at work? If so, how?
Yes, my hobbies definitely make a positive impact on my work life. For example, my DIY hobby helped me build the skillsets to do all sorts of repair projects around the clinic. Also, my foodie hobby means I can share and discover new recipes and cooking tips with the staff.
Any good book(s) you’ve read recently?
I listen to a lot of Audiobooks during my work commute. I’ve read/listened to A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, Matriarch by Tina Knowles, and I’m currently listening to Reel by Kennedy Ryan.
What does self-care look like for you during our summer season?
Summer — which is my favorite season by the way — usually consists of a week-long vacation somewhere by the ocean. When I’m back home, I’m usually sitting out in the yard reading or repotting plants.
If you had to make up a whole new astrological sign, what would your sign be called and what would its most distinguishable trait be?
Phoenixarian. The main trait would be resilience. I’d be able to bounce back from any setback and reinvent myself.

If you could have one brand-new invention added to the office for both our patients and coworkers to use, what would this invention be?
The automatic chair stretcher. When we’re busy working at the front desk, we sometimes forget to actually get up and move. How cool would it be to have a chair that straps you in and stretches your body for you!? This could also help our patients while they’re sitting in the lobby. Just think of it as your pre-adjustment before you go to see the doctor.
Forget the rules of nature for a moment– which plant would you most like to see added into our office?
I’d like us to get a Venus fly trap, mainly because I’ve never seen one on real life. Plus, it would help when those pesky flies get into the office. It would be a fun addition to the little jungle we’re building here.
What’s one interesting thing about your role within the clinic that you wish more people knew?

And that’s it for this month’s Q+A! Thank you, Angel, for letting us get to know you a little better, and for giving us a peek inside the inner workings of Division Chiropractic.
Do you have a must-visit vacation spot for Angel to add to her future travels list? Would you use the automatic chair stretcher if we had one? I know I would! If you have any questions for Angel, send us a note at schedule@divisionchiro.com. We always look forward to hearing from you.
