Meet Dr. Thompson, Chicago chiropractor and owner of Division Chiropractic in Wicker Park.

If you’ve been to our practice before, you’ve likely met Dr. Thompson and know that she’s one of our chiropractors—- but did you know she’s also a certified lactation consultant and an avid reader? 

For our first episode of In the Clinic and Beyond, we did a Q&A with Chicago chiropractor Dr. Thompson to get some insider scoop on what makes her tick.  

Read on and let us know which questions we should ask next time she’s our guest of honor in this new segment!  

What’s your role at Division Chiropractic?  

 I’ve been the clinic owner the last 3 years and I have worked at this location since 2014.  I’m a chiropractor who enjoys treating prenatal patients, working on office ergonomics, and thinking through daily movement. It is a great honor to live and work in the Wicker Park neighborhood. I love taking care of our community!  

What makes Division Chiropractic the best chiropractor in Chicago? 

We are a thoughtful and compassionate group of health care professionals who want to help you feel your best.  At our chiropractic office, we prioritize patient-centered care above all else. We use many types of physical medicine too: chiropractic adjustments (Activator, Thompson drop table, Diversified), manual therapy (trigger point work, pin and stretch, instrument assisted soft tissue therapy), and at home exercise programs.  

We’re in network with many PPO insurance policies.  We do this to ensure that our patients are able to utilize their insurance plans. If we are OUT of network with your insurance plan, we’re more than willing to provide super bills to our patients, enabling you to seek reimbursement from your respective insurance provider.

What brings you the most joy at work?   

Seeing how much relief patients feel after their treatment brings me immense joy. I also get incredibly excited to collaborate with the other chiropractors, massage therapists, and acupuncturists. 

 What are some of your hobbies or interests? 

I enjoy doing crossword puzzles and sudoku with my kids.  

Do any of your hobbies ever make a positive impact on your life at work? If so, how? 

Pilates! It has allowed me to feel best in my body and be able to perform the physicality of my job.  

 Any good book(s) you’ve read recently? 

Inciting Joy by Ross Gay. Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.  Come & Get It by Kiley Reid. 

What does self-care look like for you during these midwestern winters?

In the winter I like to slow down with a good book and a cozy blanket. I find joy in knitting and other crafts while drinking lots of hot coffee and tea. My family likes to jigsaw puzzle together and it brings us a lot of joy to work together on a tangible project.

If you had to make up a whole new astrological sign, what would your sign be called and what would its most distinguishable trait be? 

Unicorn- able to shine in any situation. 

If you could have one brand-new invention added to the office for both our patients and coworkers to use, what would this invention be?  

I would make a “chip clip” for the stubborn trigger points that live on top of your shoulders where your neck and shoulders meet. I think everyone has that knot! 

 Forget the rules of nature for a moment– which plant would you most like to see added into our office?  

I would cover the office in ferns: ostrich ferns, lemon button ferns, ribbon ferns, rabbit’s foot ferns, staghorn ferns, ALL THE FERNS! 

What’s one interesting thing about your role within the clinic that you wish more people knew? 

We work really hard on your behalf so you can use your insurance benefits. Insurance is difficult to navigate, and we will help if we can!
